ATN NVM14-2 1.0x 2nd Generation Plus Night Vision Monocular
Product Description
ATN NVM14-2 1.0x 2nd Generation Plus Night Vision Monocular
The ATN NVM-14-2 is a mini-monocular with a myriad of capabilities. ATN has engineered this pint-sized night vision powerhouse to be configured in numerous ways to suit nearly every mission-specific requirement you could think of. It can be used hand-held or mounted to a tripod, used hands-free with an optional head or helmet mount, fitted to a camera for covert night-time observation, or co-aligned with a collimated dot/laser sight as part of a formidable weapons sighting system.
The rugged water and shock-proof housing protects your investment from accidental damage and ensures that you can start and finish the task at hand with your optic intact. A built in protection system protects the light intensification system by shutting the unit down after a 10 second exposure to a bright light source. Proprietary coatings minimize the negative effects of flare and glare for the best possible line of sight regardless of the lighting conditions.
Night time viewing is made possible by a highly responsive second generation plus image intensifier with a specified resolution of 36-45 lp/mm. Second generation intensifiers are less reliant upon ambient light, produce clearer images with less distortion, and last longer than earlier versions of night vision technology.
There are many different variables that affect the distance that one can see with a night vision device, among them the object's size, the level of details being sought from the object and the conditions of observation. Night vision devices detect much further under a full moon and clear skies than they will under a new moon and cloudy skies. Many different formulas are used to determine the statistic of maximum viewing range and the method of calculation varies by manufacturer. The important factors to consider when evaluating any night vision device are the intensifier tube's generation, s/n ratio, level of magnification, specified resolution, along with the clarity & light transmission performance of the optical stack.
